I'm James Dakin
I never planned to become the man who helps women deal with insecure men.
Growing up in the 1970s with an alcoholic, abusive father, I absorbed every patriarchal, sexist bias you can imagine and thus became exactly the kind of man that so many women from around the world now come to me about. I was him for the first part of my adult life and so I understand how these men think, feel and behave because I lived it from the inside.
For over a decade now I have been working to undo this training, to heal and to become the more secure, self-aware man I am today and I will be a work in progress I suspect for my entire life. In more recent times, something completely unexpected happened, women started coming to me for my help in navigating the very dynamics I'm unlearning.
For over 30 years now, I've been fortunate enough to coach thousands of women from all over the world, helping them become fuller, more confident and present versions of themselves, empowering them to turn the tables on the insecure men who've left them second-guessing themselves for far too long. Not through confrontation or drama but through understanding the patterns, responding strategically and creating the quality of relationships they desire and deserve.
What strikes me most about the brilliant women I'm privileged to work with is their courage in trusting someone who used to be the very problem they're now facing. That trust hasn't been lost on me and it never will be.
